Now from the first version of Skyvoid and the second there's a huge difference. I think you should try to level out most of your rhythms and bassline as well as drums. The bassline and drums seem to override the lead and melody of the song and with a high DB it makes the song not very enjoyable but that doesn't mean it's bad. You'll need to focus on your rhythms and your drums. Try to find the right leveling for them instead of adding too much bass on them. Also remember that mixing and mastering is as important as anything else. Keep trying :)

Unity-Paradox responds:

Yeah, at the time I made this, I didn't know about sidechaining, which is a very good tactic for leveling the drums with the bass to prevent them from overriding everything else. I've learned a lot since then, and this is a pretty recent piece XD I'm gonna see if I can implement a third version with my newer knowledge, and maybe polish the instruments a bit better. Thanks for the feedback :D

I like this piece. What really got me into it is the rhythm and the anime chibi sounding vocals. I especially like the cleanliness of this track and how it has a smooth transition compared to many dance songs that I've heard before. I have to say however that when you get to the drops of the songs, when the pitch oscillations come in, it sounds a bit off well for me I guess. I just think it could have done with some more tweaking. Eh who cares really, the song came out really well and I like so that means other people will like it too. Nice work!

So I'm not all that familiar with the dubstep genre here but I listen to it once in a while. Now I won't say that this song captured my attention because I'm not really the girl type who likes this sort of stuff but this is a review so let's go with it. So to start it off the beginning was a nice uprising which I liked it as I would do the same. Afterwards at around 0:34 it was a nice setback for a bit however the drop was a bit too soon which kinda took me off it. Then going to 1:32 I liked that since you took it back again but you happened to do the same thing as 0:34. Now this is where things got crazy. At 2:16 you completely blew my mind. That's exactly what sold it, a bit repetitive nonetheless a nice flow and lot's of crunch to it. I didn't mind listening to this over and over again but I thought that you could have done a bit better. It sounded to me like you tried to pull off a Skrillex type of thing. I did like the amount of vocals you put into this, some off spot but the many on spot. What I think you needed work on is the mastering and mixing and the sense to not go too soon on the drop. Regardless a job well done.

Veikyul responds:

Thanks for the nice review!

I agree with the mastering and mixing, I'm not too good at that stuff.

As for the sudden first drop...I think some more buildup would be good. But hey, it's how it came out, and I think it's fine.

Maybe I'll put some more drawn-out stuff into my newer tracks, eh?

Cheers.

3 words.... " Make More MUSIC"!!!! This is good stuff and you can't stop there. Keep making more music like this! I like your style and it's something that you can work with. This is right now my favorite. Keep it up!

Now I would write a long review and explain the it's and bits about it and what I like but I just can't because I see no flaws in this whatsoever. It's perfectly composed and just beautiful. It's an extraordinary piece and you can just feel the amount of emotion it puts off on people. I'm listening to this with my studio headsets and I just go " Wow! This is just gorgeous! " This is something you don't come across everyday because of how our music industry is so focused on the new and in. Honestly the music industry has no idea what they are missing, especially with someone as talented as you. This goes to show how someone without any real-time experience with music can make something completely out of the ordinary and capture everyone's hearts. Again amazing piece, fantastic composition, and beautifully made. Well done<3

Honestly I envy your guitar parts. They always sound realistic and lively. The transitions are just on point with the guitar parts that it just sounds too good. Never disappointed, always pleased to listen to your music. Good job!

larrynachos responds:

The transitional guitar parts (intro, middle, and outro) were the only sections where I actually recorded my guitar (you can tell because it's off tempo and it sucks). The rest was all Shreddage II.

I have a habit of hating my metal tracks because the guitar sounds fake to me, but I'm really glad that you like it more than I do!

Good to hear from you again, Techmo! Saw that you just posted a new song today :D

So here's the deal. This song is heading in a good direction but I think that it could do with some more instruments touching the song at the heart. From my view I like the cinematic entrance at the start and the chiptsune sounds pretty good however I would have considered adding a bit more to it. Some more synths should give it a bit more of a rhythm to the song and a bit more of a lively scenario. The lead needs a bit more work. From all your songs you seem to be able to conduct the rhythm perfectly fine with the various synths added but the lead also plays that important role where it catches peoples attention. It's important to remember that your rhythm and lead parts should correspond with each other to create a perfect melody. I liked the song throughout 2:12 where you hear more of that sweet chiptune sound. That's the kind of sound you want with your songs but don't just stop at one lead, go for two. With two leads you can maximize the songs true potential. Try to work on your lead parts and you'll be fine. Otherwise a nice soundtrack you got here.

Zechnition responds:

Ooo a big review, thanks! I definitely understand what you're getting at with getting multiple instruments to work together. You didn't mention much about mixing so I think i've gotten pretty good at that, now it's time to work more on composition and getting those instruments sounding perfect! =D

I'm not 100% sure as how you started off but this sounds really good. What I like about this is the nice feel that it has in video games and it sort of brings out a nice welcome to something new. I'm feeling the 8-bit/ chiptune type of sound and it came out good. My only problem is that it was just not enough. When I say this it doesn't mean that it was bad, it just means it needed more of a fill. It shows some gaps in there that could have been filled for a much more lively effect. The sound is good regardless. Good work!

Edman520 responds:

Thanks for the advice! Ill try to work on that either refining this song or on my future songs.

I miss ParagonX9 X'(

Upon first hearing about Waterflame back in like 2013 I have never been disappointed with his work. I'm actually sort of jealous that I can't do music like this. Each to their own styles I guess. Anyways going to the review. Simply put I can't stretch it enough that he's made awesome tunes on here and it fit's any game per say. This song brings a sense of epicness just like many of your songs and it doesn't need much effort to them because of it's rhythm and melodic background. Great job as always Waterflame!
